Hi, this is DegJP. I am an individual Japanese game designer I think.

I am a fan of the great game Atlas Reactor and have been waiting for it to come back. However, after 30,000 years, not even a single new game of the same genre was created.

This is wrong totally. This world is wrong.

I need to play the game again. You too, right?

Then I shall do. On behalf of the moon.

I'm done blaming Gamigo. They just tried something and failed badly.

Thanks to their act that turned my indignation to sense of mission.

Leave them. It's time to move on. I decide to bring back the game like AR by myself.

I make a new one.

Therefore, I started my project.

Actually, it was started as board game from late 2020 but it wasn't work well. I gave it up then. And I tried to make new version in late of 2021 and I failed again. That time, I gave up about to make it as analog game. From mid 2022, I started to develop the game with Unreal Engine 4.

I call this KAP - Kamitoki Arena Prototype. My current goal is to complete this playable prototype by the end of 2023.

About KAP :

My primary mission is to complete the KAP.

As for its monetization, I have no plan. I am optimistic that this will not be a big problem since it is a indie dev. To be honest, I don't even know how much the running cost will be. I can figure it out later so leave it now.

My second mission is to lay the groundwork so that we don't make the same mistake with AR. Maybe it's about getting and keeping players.

I believe that for an IP to be known and for people to talk about it (i.e. form a fan community) it needs to have a strong story in itself. Hence, I am thinking of making a comic. I intend to expand the game and comic content as much as possible and grow the IP with community.

Surely It will take time, but I don't have anything else to do anyway.

My only concern is whether I can keep myself motivated. You can help me on that.

About the game :

"Kamitoki" is an archaic Japanese word meaning thunder. It is also the name of the fictional city where the story of the game takes place.

I'm going to keep its basic game mechanics and game design the same as AR but I'll redesign all Freelancers and maps from concept.

In KAP, players build and control their unit that combine of the Monster and the Handler like relations in Persona or Digimon. Monsters are primary spec of the unit and the handlers are sub like Catalyst in AR.

Currently there are 24 monster ideas and 24 Handler ideas.

There are 6 Frontliner, 12 Firepower and 6 Support Monsters. Each have unique 5 abilities including 1 ULT. The handlers have no type, but has some skills like Catalysts.

That's it for now. Let me make it. See how it goes.
